BLOUNTVILLE - Airport Authority commissioners moved closer Thursday to hiring an executive search firm to replace outgoing Tri-Cities Regional Airport Executive Director Patrick Wilson.

Commissioners decided to hire ADK Executive Search, an Atlantic Beach, Fla., firm specializing in finding airport managers, subject to finalizing a contract.

Wilson is leaving to become a deputy director at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Commissioners also named David Jones, TCRA's director of Operations, as interim airport director.

The search for a new TCRA executive director is expected to take 4-6 months.
