BULLS GAP — Hawkins County deputies have a tag number and a good description of a pickup used to dump more than 100 old tires on private property on Rt. 66-S in Bulls Gap last week.

On Friday property owner Bill Cupp reported that a large quantity of tires had been dumped on a lot he owns near 1010 Rt. 66-S. A neighbor told the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office that on Thursday, Feb. 14, a maroon "low rider" Chevy S-10 pickup was seen at the property on at least three occasions. The pickup was also seen heading toward Greene County when it left each time.

HCSO Lt. James Woods stated in his report that a witness reported seeing the maroon S-10 pickup leave the property three times, dumping tires each time.

Cupp reportedly went looking for the truck and found one at a nearby Greene County residence matching the description. Cupp gave the tag number to the HCSO.

The HCSO detectives division is now investigating.
