Update: Victim of fatal Kingsport crash identified

Update: 2:35 p.m.
Police have identified the victim of Tuesday morning's fatal crash as Benjamin M. Williams, 30, of Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport.
It is not known if he was wearing a seatbelt, but due to the impact investigators say it would not have made a difference in his injuries.
Update: 11:13 a.m.
A Tuesday morning crash on Industry Drive killed a man and forced the closure of a portion of the road for several hours.
It occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. just west of Thompson Metal. Kingsport police expected the section of Industry Drive between Wilcox Drive and Center Street to remain closed until 1 p.m.
KPD Officer Dale Farmer said an eastbound Peterbilt tractor with no trailer was traveling between 30 to 35 mph. A westbound Chevrolet Silverado reportedly crossed the centerline and struck the Peterbilt head-on.
Emergency responders found the driver of the pickup dead and the driver of the Peterbilt with minor injuries. An investigation into the incident is continuing.
Office Farmer said the victim was a white male, with his identity withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
UPDATE: 10:30 a.m.
Kingsport police report a Tuesday morning crash that forced the closure of Industry Drive resulted in the death of one person.
Lanes of Industry Drive from Wilcox Drive to Center Street are expected to remain closed until approximately 1 p.m. KPD Officer Dale Farmer says the crash occurred when the driver of a pickup truck crossed the centerline and was hit head-on by a semi-truck. The pickup's driver was killed.
