UPDATE: Man jumps off Johnson City roof after police burst through window

UPDATE — Police broke through a window onto the roof of a building where a man had been perched for more than two hours this morning after he fled a traffic stop and climbed atop the building. He soon jumped from the building.

A man fleeing a Johnson City police traffic stop climbed atop an East Maple Street building this morning, prompting police and other officials to try talking him down.

The man ran away from the stop and managed to get atop the Washington County Emergency Management building on East Maple.

Police, fire and EMS officials are on the scene, and officials have brought civilians to the area to talk the man.
