A Limestone woman charged with attempted murder by Kingsport police fired four shots at two people late Saturday night, according to court records, striking a man in the leg with one of the rounds.

Cathy McMackin, 57, of 101 Glendale Road, Limestone, Tenn., was arrested Sunday. Kingsport police say McMackin was apprehended by police in Limestone, with a $75,000 bond set during a Monday arraignment. As of Monday afternoon she remained held in the Kingsport city jail.

Kingsport investigators are still working to determine a motive in the shooting at 3633 Montclair Road, which sent a man identified as Dino Austin to Holston Valley Medical Center for treatment. According to the affidavit in Kingsport court Austin's girlfriend, who is an acquaintance of McMackin, was also present when the incident occurred.

Austin and his girlfriend were reportedly in a bedroom talking when McMackin entered the room. The court records say McMackin stated she would "end this" and fired four shots from a small Derringer in the couple's direction. One of those rounds struck Austin in the leg.

Additional charges are pending in the case, with McMackin's next court appearance scheduled for Dec. 18.
