A Rogersville man has been arrested after police allegedly located 38 marijuana plants, ranging from 2 feet to more than 6 feet tall, growing on his property.

An arrest report from the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office says police visited 1776 Burem Road on Wednesday morning, in reference to a possible grow operation. The resident, Eddie Wayne Parvin, 61, reportedly consented to a search of his property.

Police say they discovered a water hose with the water running, leading from the house to an outbuilding. Behind the building 38 plants were reportedly located.

Parvin was arrested and charged with manufacturing a controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are sold, stored or used. He also faces an additional charge of violating a drug-free school zone, as his home is located within 1,000 feet of Keplar Elementary School.
