BLOUNTVILLE — A Fall Branch woman faces a vehicular homicide charge in connection with a crash that killed a Church Hill man. According to court records, Tana Broyles, 47, 395 Oak Glen Circle, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of vehicle homicide by operation of an automobile, a Class C felony. A warrant for her arrest was issued after a Sullivan County grand jury returned a sealed indictment on the charge on March 8. The indictment alleges Broyles’ reckless operation of an automobile created a “substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury” and resulted in death of Shannon T. Faust, 33, of Church Hill. According to Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper David Osborne, Faust was killed in a two-vehicle rollover crash on Sullivan Gardens Parkway on Feb. 3, 2010.Osborne said Broyles’ northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee crossed into the path of Faust’s Nissan 200SX in the southbound lanes near Rock Springs Drive. The Nissan swerved to avoid a collision, and the two vehicles collided in the center lane. Both vehicles came to rest in the outside northbound lane. The Cherokee was on its top, and the Nissan was upright, Osborne said. Broyles received treatment at Holston Valley Medical Center following the crash. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to Osborne. Broyles posted a $10,000 bond the day of her arrest. She is scheduled to appear in Sullivan County Criminal Court on April 29.
