A Kingsport man faces charges after allegedly huffing air duster prior to his vehicle leaving Interstate 26, hitting a guardrail and embankment before stopping on an adjacent road.

The wreck occurred Tuesday at about 6:10 p.m. Kingsport police report the driver, Christophe P. Graham, 20, of 726 Rector Drive, was transported to Holston Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Due to his hospitalization Graham was released on citations for driving under the influence, unlawful inhaling and failure to maintain proper control.

According to the police report, an officer responded to Fairview Avenue and Peach Orchard Drive to find a 1987 Chevrolet Silverado with sever damage. Graham was taken to the hospital, while an investigation revealed his truck had been northbound on I-26 when it left the outside lane.

The officer reports Graham's truck hit a perimeter fence and entered Fairview Avenue, which runs parallel to I-26. The truck then proceeded to strike a guardrail on Fairview Avenue before hitting an embankment and stopping on Peach Orchard Drive.

A half empty can of air duster was found in the passenger side floorboard of the truck, according to police. The officer notes speaking with Graham at the hospital, where he allegedly admitted to huffing the air duster prior to the wreck.
