A Kingsport man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend's apartment and attacking her new boyfriend.

According to a Kingsport police arrest report, the incident occurred at about 1:30 Sunday morning at the Manor Court apartment complex. Officers responded following calls to central dispatch, reporting a man knocking on doors and asking for help.

Police say they found a man in a foyer, suffering cuts to the back of his head and around his eye, and bleeding heavily from one ear. He reported he was at his girlfriend's house, 1925 Manor Court, apartment D, when a man he didn't know kicked in the door. The victim claimed he was hit and kicked in the head by the man, then choked.

The officer reports a female ran to his location, saying her ex-boyfriend was behind the attack. Police say they found the suspect, Bradley R. Blackburn, 39, of 600 Fleetwood Drive, apartment 301, standing in a yard at the apartments. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, domestic assault and vandalism.

The female told police that when the male victim ran from the attack, Blackburn forced himself on her before she could flee the apartment, as well.
