The victim, a 48 year-old woman, suffered minor injuries, while the suspect claimed to have been provoked when his car was spit on.
According to a Kingsport police arrest report, the incident occurred Sunday at about 5:20 p.m. A Blountville man and his wife told police they were riding a motorcycle west on Memorial Boulevard near Briarwood Street.
The victims say a car was following them extremely close, with the driver displaying his middle finger. They allegedly pulled over to let the vehicle pass, then turned onto Briarwood Street.
According to the motorcyclists, at the corner of Briarwood Street and Harbor Drive they re-encountered the car. The vehicle was allegedly stopped in the road, so the motorcycle maneuvered around it.
While they were passing, the driver of the car allegedly spayed a white foamy substance, later identified as wasp killer. The police report says the spray struck the motorcycle then hit the female rider in the arm and face. EMS treated her injuries at the scene.
Police say they located the suspect's vehicle on nearby Glenbrook Street. He allegedly said he sprayed the wasp killer because one of the motorcycle riders spit on his car.
Alan R. Henderson, 46, of 4404 Glenbrok Drive, was arrested and charged with two counts of reckless endangerment.
