A Kingsport man driving on a revoked license faces numerous charges after allegedly overturning a car, then running from police.

The wreck occurred Monday at about 2:10 p.m., on Fort Robinson Drive near West Center Street. A Kingsport police report says a 2000 Honda Civic was traveling west on Fort Robinson when it ran off the left side of the road, struck a guy wire and overturned. The driver reportedly left the scene on foot.

The responding officer notes observing a man walking on nearby Howard Street, who matched the description of a potential driver. When police stopped to speak with the pedestrian, he allegedly ran.

The report says the man was caught and identified as Michael A. Light, 25, of 2044 Todds Drive, Kingsport. He told police he had "panicked" after the wreck.

A check of Light's license revealed it had been revoked, while the tag on the Honda came back as registered to a Toyota. Police say Light had no insurance on the vehicle.

Light was arrested and charged with driving on a revoked license, failure to maintain control, leaving the scene of an accident and violation of registration.
