Two homeless men were arrested Saturday after a woman allegedly returned to her Kingsport home, finding them asleep in her beds.

The suspects told police, "a guy by the name of Josh," had granted them permission. The resident said Josh, her nephew, doesn't live there — nor have the authority to allow guests in her home.

According to an arrest report at the Kingsport Police Department, the resident left 400 Ridgefields Road at 5:30 Friday evening. When she returned at 8:15 Saturday morning, she heard snoring coming from a back bedroom.

The woman says she entered the room to find a white male lying in a bed. A bed in another room allegedly contained a second man. According to police the men, "stated they had permission from a guy by the name of Josh."

The woman, 51, told the men to leave and called police. She then reported that Josh, a nephew, didn't have permission to invite people into her residence.

A short distance away police found two men matching the suspects' descriptions. The reporting officer says they admitted to sleeping in the home, after Josh said they could. How they gained entry is not mentioned.

Police determined the men — whose addresses are listed at streets of Kingsport — were not at the residence to commit a felony. Bradley Scott Reece and Jimmy Jack Cox, each 20, were then charged with criminal trespassing, arrested and transported to the city jail.
