The suspect in a Saturday morning hit-and-run outside a Kingsport nightclub was later located and arrested — but not before allegedly becoming "belligerent" and "combative," kicking several officers attempting to detain him.

According to reports at the Kingsport Police Department, at about 12:44 Saturday morning a hit-and-run was reported at Hog Wild Saloon, 1009 W. Stone Drive. Witnesses reported seeing a 1994 Toyota 4Runner hit a parked 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse, then drive from the scene.

Police were provided with a license plate number for the Toyota, locating it about two hours later in the parking lot of Maple Oaks Apartments, 818 Oak Street. The driver, identified as Dana Austin Farrow, 42, of Nicholasville, Ky., allegedly had an odor of alcohol, and stated he was at Hog Wild on Friday Night.

When asked to step from the vehicle, according to the report, Farrow was unsteady on his feet with glassy, bloodshot eyes. Police say he agreed to perform field sobriety tests, but performed poorly "and became belligerent."

When police attempted to place Farrow in cuffs, he allegedly turned combative, actively resisting and kicking officers. When he was detained and being placed in a cruiser, he allegedly kicked another officer, "several times," in the upper chest.

Farrow was arrested and charged with DUI, resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident and violation of implied consent.
