Two people are in critical condition following a Thursday afternoon head-on collision in Blountville.

The condition of a third individual who was transported to the hospital was not released to the media, due to her juvenile status.

The wreck occurred near 143 Harr Town Road at 2:44 p.m. According to a Sullivan County Sheriff's Office accident report, a 1996 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 16-year-old female was traveling west.

Police say the Toyota lost traction on a wet road while going down a hill and negotiating a curve. It crossed the center line into the path of a 1990 Chevrolet S-10, striking it head-on.

The occupants of the S-10 are identified as Randall Fleenor, 46, and Iva M. Fleenor, 47, each of 309 Juanita Private Drive, Blountville. They were transported by helicopter to Holston Valley Medical Center.

On Friday afternoon Wellmont spokesman Jim Wozniak said they were both in critical condition.

The juvenile, whose status was not released, was transported from the scene of the wreck by ambulance.
