Records at the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office say each were arrested and charged with public intoxication.
At about 3:15 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the probation office on Highway 394 in Blountville. According to the report, it was in reference to a, "drunk female causing a disturbance."
Police spoke with the complainant, a probation officer, who reported a woman reporting to her had a strong odor of alcohol. The deputy says he then witnessed the woman nearly fall on two occasions, and verified she smelled of alcoholic beverage.
The woman, Jennifer Shane Lyons, 37, of 2524 Chinquapin Grove Road, told police she had not been drinking. The officer then asked how she arrived at the probation office, with Lyons allegedly stating she had driven.
When asked how she would get home, Lyons allegedly replied there was no way but for her to drive. She was then arrested and charged with public intoxication.
Lyons was convicted of obtaining narcotics by fraud in 2006 and served two years in jail. Her probation period was scheduled to expire in November.
In the other Wednesday incident, a deputy was summoned from Sessions Court at the Bristol, Tenn., Municipal Building, 801 Anderson Street. In the lobby he spoke with Brandee Janette Arend, 24, of 711 College Ave., Bristol, Tenn.
The deputy reports Arend was unsteady on her feet with glassy eyes. She initially denied drinking or taking medication.
But after talking longer with the officer, Arend allegedly admitted to taking Lortabs and Klonopin. She was then arrested and charged with public intoxication.
