A four-car wreck on West Stone drive snarled traffic Wednesday afternoon, and sent two people to the hospital with injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

According to Kingsport police officer John McGee, the wreck occurred at about 2:20 p.m., at the intersection of West Stone Drive and Fairview Avenue. He said a Chevrolet Blazer traveling west on Stone Drive struck a Ford Taurus in the passenger side as it attempted to turn off eastbound Stone Drive onto Fairview.

Both vehicles then careened off one another, with each striking separate cars on Fairview Avenue. McGee said the incident is still under investigation, with charges pending.

Two people traveling in the Taurus were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while traffic in the area was impeded for a little over an hour.
