A Church Hill resident has been arrested after allegedly knocking out a man's teeth with a metal faucet, then robbing him of $800 in cash.

On Tuesday the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office served a warrant on Keith Wayne Vestal, 31, of 135 Wellington St. He is charged with especially aggravated assault following an incident that occurred earlier this month in the Bloomingdale community.

According to a report at the Sheriff's Office, the victim claims he was 110 Thomas Street, lot No. 16, during the early morning hours of April 10. The victim, who was watching TV with the resident, reported that another man, Vestal, arrived at the home with a woman and three small children.

The victim told police he had met Vestal on a couple of previous occasions, but didn't know him very well. The report says that at some point the alleged victim got into an argument with the woman that accompanied Vestal, and decided he would leave the residence.

According to police, the man also claimed Vestal, "had drank a large amount of beer," and, "was getting out of control."

The report says the alleged victim exited the front door. While standing on the front porch, Vestal allegedly hit him in the head with a metal object.

The victim claims he fell to the ground, with Vestal continuing to hit him in the head and face with the object. Before leaving the home on a motorcycle, Vestal allegedly stole $800 in cash that was in the man's pocket.

The police report says the victim, who required medical attention at Holston Valley Medical Center, had his front teeth knocked out and sustained a large cut above his eye. The deputy also observed a "large amount" of blood on the front porch of the Thomas Street residence, along with a metal faucet believed to have been Vestal's weapon.

A police report filed Tuesday says Vestal was served a warrant for especially aggravated robbery and arrested.
