Police release name, photo of man wanted in south Johnson City shooting

Staff Report • Apr 16, 2010 at 12:00 AM

The man wanted in connection with a shooting at a south Johnson City apartment complex earlier this week is no stranger to police here — he was arrested last year on aggravated assault and aggravated robbery charges.

Now investigators have charged Jamarcus L. Jackson, 20, 180 Grand Ave., No. 11, with attempted first-degree murder in the early morning shooting of his sister’s boyfriend and his sister is charged with lying to cover up his involvement.

Police have issued a warrant for Jackson’s arrest, but he is not in custody yet. Jackson’s sister, Jalesa J. Harris, 18, was jailed Thursday on a charge of filing a false report. Jackson is accused of shooting Keith Crawford, 22, twice — once in the lower abdomen and once in the thigh — around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday at 34 Town Square, where Crawford lived with Harris.
