WYTHEVILLE -- According to the Roanoke Times, Sharon Bane sobbed as she described the day she thought she and her son might die at the hands of the man who had just killed her husband and shot her father.She recalled driving back up to her house on Dyer Road in Barren Springs after taking her daughter to the school bus stop early the morning of Dec. 16, 2008. She saw her husband, Joe Bane, lying in the yard.She ran to him. She screamed over the phone for her father, Jerry Covey, to come help.
