The 22-year-old woman who was found dead Sunday morning next to her mangled sports car on a South Knoxville embankment had last been seen by friends speaking to an ex-boyfriend in the Old City, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office missing persons report.
According to the report, April Lawanna Keck, of Cape Brittany Way in West Knoxville, was last spotted leaving Barley’s Taproom & Pizzeria shortly after midnight Friday.
About 90 minutes later, the Tennessee Highway Patrol engaged in and then called off a high-speed chase with Keck’s black Mitsubishi on Chapman Highway. It wasn’t until Sunday morning, however, that Keck’s body was found near the crushed car, near the 6000 block of Chapman Highway.
