NFS spokeswoman Lauri Turpin said during what is referred to as a vacation shutdown/temporary layoff, the employees will be sent home for a three-week period.
Turpin said the action would affect around 150 of NFS’s approximately 400 hourly employees. During the first week of the vacation shutdown/temporary layoff, employees with vacation time will be able to use it, Turpin said. The following two weeks, employees affected will be able to draw unemployment benefits.
