Jury selection begins in bathtub strangling case

DAYTON, Tenn. - Jury selection has begun in the trial of a Graysville man accused in the strangling of another man in a bathtub.The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports 42-year-old William Thomas Minton faces criminal homicide charges in the death of Carlos McCuiston Jr. in Dayton.McCuiston's nephew, Allen Smith, found his uncle's body on July 24, 2008.The newspaper reported Smith told police he met Minton coming out of the apartment and Minton told him, "I strangled the S.O.B."Police reports said when Minton was arrested he was carrying a watch, chain, ring and pendant that belonged to the victim. Authorities also said Minton's boots were covered in what appeared to be blood. Minton told authorities he could not remember what had occurred.Minton's attorney, Larry Roddy, says his client is innocent.
