Police: Mom drove getaway car; 11-year-old son did stickup

ATHENS, Tenn. - Police said an East Tennessee woman drove the getaway car after talking her 11-year-old son into committing an armed robbery at a finance company where she had worked.Investigators in Athens said 32-year-old Angela Evans has confessed.Detective Freddy Schultz told the Daily Post-Athenian that Evans had worked at the finance office in the past.Schultz said the boy admitted to the Jan. 8 robbery and said his mother put him up to it.A clerk told police that a juvenile wearing something over his face placed a gun to her head and demanded all the money from the cash register. The robber took $80 and rode off in a red vehicle.Investigators said the boy told them he got a $20 share.Evans was in custody Tuesday. Jail records do not show that she has hired an attorney.
