A two car wreck on Kingsport's Netherland Inn Road snarled traffic for about 30 minutes on Tuesday, with one driver being cited by police.

According to Kingsport Police Officer Dale Farmer, the collision occurred at about 12:40 p.m. A 2008 Toyota Corolla traveling west on Netherland Inn Road had to stop, as the car it was following attempted a left turn onto Canongate Road.

A 1990 Nissan Frontier that was following the Corolla hit its brakes as traffic slowed. The pickup veered right off the road and struck an embankment, then spun around. The left rear of the truck, which was raised off the ground as it spun, then hit the rear of the Toyota, above the bumper, crushing its trunk.

The driver of the Toyota was transported to Holston Valley Medical Center. Farmer said the injuries are not considered life-threatening, and that the Corolla's passenger was fine.

The driver of the pickup, Kyle Mullins, of Butcher Valley Road, Rogersville, also sustained no injuries. He was cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle.
