5 hurt when truck crashes into Waffle House

The Greeneville Sun is reporting that five people were injured and taken to a hospital Wednesday morning after a pickup crashed into the Waffle House restaurant on East Andrew Johnson Highway.Witnesses told a Greeneville Sun reporter that two occupants of the Ford Explorer extended-cab pickup truck and three women customers were injured in the mishap that happened shortly after 9 a.m.Officer David Lewis said he viewed video from the restaurant's security camera system that showed the accident take place. That video showed the truck pull into a parking space as though the driver was preparing to park. But the pickup truck didn't stop and smashed through the restaurant's pre-fabricated exterior wall and into the interior of the restaurant.Read the full report at the Greeneville Sun's Web site.
