MORRISTOWN - Police at Walters State Community College are on heightened alert after a student reported an abduction and rape, the first such incident in the 40-year history of the school that is known for its public safety program.

The 40-year-old woman told police she had gotten out of classes a few minutes early about 4:15 p.m. Monday, and as she arrived at her vehicle a strange man met her.

The man forced her into the back of her vehicle and drove it away, she told police.
