Police Tasered a Kingsport man on Friday after he allegedly forced his way into an ex-girlfriend's apartment and refused to leave.

According to a report from the Kingsport Police Department, the incident occurred at an apartment at 1416 Lynn Garden Drive, at about 5:17 p.m. An officer on patrol was flagged down on Lynn Garden Drive by the resident, Connie Rena Leonard.

Leonard told police her former boyfriend, Randy G. Head, 35, of 436 Archcrest St., was inside the apartment. She reported she had been at work, but a witness who was home said Head forced his way inside, was drunk and refused to leave.

The officer responded to the apartment, and reports he could hear loud noises coming from inside. The entrance was unlocked, with a chair pushed against the door.

When the officer made entry to check the apartment, Head allegedly emerged from the bedroom. Police say he was ordered to the ground but refused, and would not display his hands.

According to police, Head ignored several commands and became increasingly defiant. When the officer threatened to use a Taser gun, Head allegedly maintained an agressive stance then charged the officer.

Head was then Tasered in the abdomen.

The police report says Head, "remained verbally defiant but his agressive behavior was easily controlled after the taser shot."

Head was arrested amd charged with aggravated burglary and resisting arrest.
