A forensic pathologist who conducted the autopsy on 16-year-old Jordan Kaleb Shelton told Rogersville jurors Tuesday she concluded the boy’s death was "homicidal strangulation."Dr. Darinka Mileusnic-Polchan said that to cause the injuries that Shelton’s former foster parent, Kenneth Wayne Taylor, allegedly inflicted, Taylor would have had to apply pressure to Shelton’s neck for between three and five minutes. Taylor - a former Morristown bodybuilder - is accused of first degree murder and aggravated child abuse.Taylor’s attorney, Herbert Moncier, maintains his client was attempting to protect himself, his wife and their twin boys from an out-of-control Shelton. Moncier said Taylor tried to subdue Shelton with a "sleeper hold." Initially, the pressure halted the blood flow from Shelton’s brain to his heart, which concentrating blood in the teen’s head, according to Mileusnic-Polchan. As Taylor’s grip tightened, the doctor testified, the blood flow stopped from Shelton’s heart to his brain. Read the full report at the Morristown Citizen Tribune's web site.
