KNOXVILLE — Police this morning are questioning two men in connection with a string of three armed robberies in two hours.

The first heist occurred about 1:30 a.m. when two men shot their way into a locked McDonald’s Restaurant, 5260 Millertown Pike, according to Knoxville Police Department Lt. Greg Hoskins.

Hoskins said the business’ drive-through window was open with three employees inside, but the doors to the restaurant were locked. Two men approached and one fired a round through a glass door to force employees to let them in.
