Indictments returned in 94-year-old Morristown man's kidnapping, murder, and mutilation over drug debt

Brice Whaley Jr., the person who allegedly cut off a 94-year-old Morristown man's hand after he was murdered, has been indicted by a Hamblen County grand jury indicted for first-degree murder and especially aggravated kidnapping in connection with the January 2008 abduction and homicide.If convicted of first-degree murder, Whaley, 40, could face up to 51 years in prison. The superseding indictment returned Monday also charges Whaley with abuse of a corpse. Preliminary hearings testimony from other murder defendants give partial insight to Whaley’s alleged involvement in the murder and kidnapping.Darrell E. Nance, 24; Jessica Lane, 24; Gevon Cortez "G" Patton, 17; and Anthony M. Patton, 19, allegedly were in Halley’s Jeep Cherokee when they abducted Willie Lee Morgan from his Nelson School Road residence.
