Johnson City police investigators apparently interrupted a homicide plan on Wednesday while conducting a drug investigation – possibly saving a man’s life while putting his intended killer in jail.

Undercover narcotics officers arrested Roy L. Wilson, 80, 2701 S. Roan St., No. 225, after he allegedly tried to purchased a weapon to commit a murder, according to Johnson City Police Sgt. Kevin Peters.

Wilson was charged with attempted first-degree murder, sale of schedule III narcotics, conspiracy to sell schedule III narcotics and maintaining a dwelling where controlled substances are kept or sold.
