Greeneville motorcyclist in critical condition after hitting car

A Greeneville man was critically injured Sunday when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car on Linda Street a short distance off West Main Street.According to the Greeneville Sun Michael B. McCray, 25, of Brooks Street, lost control of the 1997 Suzuki GSX600 motorcycle he was riding.A report filed by Officer David Lewis said that after McCray lost control of the motorcycle, he "laid the cycle down" but it still struck a 1999 Plymouth Sebring sedan driven by Sharon E. Bowers, 50, of Nolichuckey Road.McCray, according to the report, was thrown about 50 feet from the point of impact between his motorcycle and the sedan.After being treated at the scene by Greene County-Greeneville Emergency Medical Services personnel at the scene, McCray was flown by a Wings Air Rescue helicopter to the Johnson City Medical Center, according to the police report.CLICK HERE for the full report.
