Robbers attack Greeneville man, take $7,000 in cash

According to a report in the Greeneville Sun an employee of the Snapps Ferry Road convenience store was robbed of $7,000 in cash and other items by two men Monday night as he walked to his Heatherwood Loop apartment.GPD Officer Jackie Tweed said in his report that the victim told police two men had attacked him from behind as he walked from his vehicle to his apartment while carrying a cloth bag that contained the cash and other items.The victim said his attackers had covered his face with some type of cloth and had taken from him by force the cloth bag shortly before 9:30 p.m. Police found two nylon handles torn from the cloth bag at the scene by police, according to the report.The victim attempted to chase the robbers, who fled toward the Greeneville Terrace apartment complex, but could not catch them, police reported.
