According to a report on Tricities.com renting houses during race week is a way Mickey Baker earns some extra money.“I have a three bedroom, one bath ranch house here in Bristol. I’m about 3 miles from the race track,” he said Wednesday. For the past four years, he has rented his house and others in the area to race fans, in addition to running his business, Hilltop Realty. But this year things are not so good.“I’m probably down about 50 percent,” Baker told the Herald Courier his rentals are down about 50 percent. “The people had been renting from me for six years and backed out about three weeks ago because their company did spending freezes,” Baker said.
