Sevier doctor charged with rape; case may involve up to 25 male, teen patients

According to a report in the Knoxville News Sentinel, as many as 25 people "may have had issues" with a Sevierville physician who was arrested Wednesday after being indicted on charges of raping and fondling two men and a youth in his clinic, police said.Dr. Rodney G. Carter, 50, was arrested at his clinic by Sevierville Police Department. The arrests culminated an investigation that began in July 2008.The six-count indictment alleges Carter performed anal digital penetration on the three victims and also fondled their genitals. The specific charges are rape and aggravated sexual battery on each of the victims.
