Wellmont puts Gray urgent care plans on hold for Exit 7 site, will sell 26 acres around Gray clinic site

According to the Bristol Herald Courier Wellmont Health System officials have put an urgent care center in Piney Flats on hold and are refocusing efforts on a site near Exit 7.Company officials said Wednesday they plan to convert the old Stagecoach Road Bob Evans Restaurant at Exit 7 into a physicians’ office building that will be open by mid-summer.Hospital spokesman Brad Lifford told the Herald Courier Wellmont would hold on to the 4-acre Piney Flats clinic site but is moving forward with plans to sell a 26-acre tract that surrounds the proposed clinic’s site.
