Kingway Charities drops local efforts for widows, the hungry and children to focus on international medical relief

According to the Bristol Herald-Courier the region’s largest charitable giving organization is dropping its local progams to help the hungry, widows and children and narrowing its focus to international medical relief. A shrinking endowment affected financial markets was cited as the reaason Kingsway Charities, which had $122 million last year, will cut programs serving the hungry, widows and children in the region.The staff will be reduced from 16 to six workers.
