Ex-cop fired for ignoring mayor's warning to stop writing tickets gets $40,000 settlement

According to a report in the Jackson Sun, a former Medina police officer will receive $40,000 from the city in the settlement of a lawsuit.Former Sgt. Chris McNabb sued Medina city officials in August, claiming he was fired for ignoring a request from Medina Mayor Vance Coleman to quit writing traffic tickets on Medina citizens.Officials said there is no merit in the allegation but agreed to a settlement, Medina city attorney Jerry Spore told The Jackson Sun.Former police officer Jeffrey Luther filed a similar lawsuit, which is pending.
