According to Bristol Tennessee Police, the indictemnts are the result of more than a year of investigations into the sale of crack cocaine and prescription narcotics in the city. The Department, aided by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department and Second Judicial District Drug Task Force, was able to make controlled purchases of these drugs from several different individuals during the course of their investigation.
Charges on the indictments include sale of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance and sale of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
Currently, 15 of the 39 people have been arrested. The investigation is continuing, and the BTPD will be presenting additional cases to the Grand Jury in the near future.
Arrested thus far are; Joana M Brooks, 31, Sullivan County; Steve Duclar, 35, Bristol, Tenn.; Brett Gammon, 21, Bristol, Tenn.; Jeff Artiburn, 48, Bristol, Tenn.; Darius Brown, 21, Bristol, Va.; Prince Barnett, 26, Bristol, Tenn.; Jerry Stone, 55, Bristol, Tenn.; Valtina Gudger, 43, Bristol, Tenn.; Archie Stone, 53, Bristol, Tenn.; Michelle Bernard, 44, Bristol, Va.; Maurice Gudger, 49, Bristol, Tenn.; Christopher Dalton, 28, Sullivan County; Alonzo Norman, 38, Bristol, Tenn.; Ryia Seals, 24, Bristol, Tenn.; Broderick Howard, 38, Bristol, Tenn.
