Hamblen Commissioner, constable to keep county jobs, face pay cuts job sanctions

According to the Morristown Citizen-Tribune former Hamblen County Commissioner Frank Parker and Constable Ed King will keep their county government jobs. However, both face pay cuts and other sanctions.Parker was sacked as Cherokee Park director. King lost his job as park manager.Parker and King will be suspended for a month without pay and will be ineligible for overtime at the Cherokee Park campground office, according to Hamblen County Mayor David Purkey.If King does not resign his constable seat, Purkey told the Citizen-Review, County Attorney Rusty Cantwell will file an ouster suit to remove him from office.On Friday, Purkey notified Parker and King, who were implicated in the theft of $750 from a mentally challenged man, that they would face sanctions.CLICK HERE for the full report.
