The Knoxville News-Sentinel
is reporting that Christian book publisher Thomas Nelson laid off 55 employees amid dwindling religious book sales.
The Tennessean reports Thomas Nelson CEO and President Michael Hyatt said in a company blog the layoffs were "purely a result of the slowdown in the economy."
Tuesday's round of layoffs was the second at Nashville-based Thomas Nelson this year. In April, the company cut roughly 60 of its 600-plus employees at the time as it trimmed the number of book titles it publishes by half. CLICK HERE
