Voting heavy in region as polls open

Election day has kicked off with quite a surge in the region. Before voting began more than 100 people were lined up at the Sullivan County Election Office in Blountville, while about 400 voters cast ballots in the first hour at Bristol Virginia's precinct three.

But it didn't take long for lines to dwindle down. An hour after each polling place opened, voter traffic was steadily moving through. Click the box below for a video report.
