KINGSPORT — Jim’s Lawn Center Inc. has opened in its new location, in the old Safeco building at 640 E. Sullivan St., next to China Wok.
Jim’s Lawn Center was the first business to move from its old location on Clay Street to make way for the Academic Village, including the Higher Education Center.
Owned by Jim Glenn, the business sells, services and carries parts for Simplicity, Snapper and Great Dane mowers and equipment, Ariens walk-behind mowers and Robin string trimmers and blowers and hedge trimmers.
It also carries parts for Briggs and Stratton and Kohler small engines.
Glenn started the business 26 years ago after managing the lawn service department at Dobyns-Taylor Hardware and earlier working at various industries in town.
The business can be reached at (423) 246-5467.
