A Kingsport man is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday after he allegedly robbed the secretary of a church near his home at knifepoint.

Dusty L. Bragg, 52, of 2544 Hawaii St., was arraigned Monday in Kingsport General Sessions Court. He was arrested Friday after either his probation or parole officer called police to let them know he'd contacted her with his whereabouts, according to Kingsport Police Department Detective Cpl. Frank Light. Light wasn't sure whether Bragg was on probation or parole.

Bragg is accused of threatening the church secretary at Homeland Baptist Church, 2504 Hawaii St., displaying a knife and holding it at her back as she went to the office to retrieve the keys to her 1999 Nissan Quest in the parking lot.

Bragg allegedly fled in the van after taking all the money from the woman's purse.

The woman positively identified Bragg in a photo lineup during the investigation, according to an affidavit.

Bragg faces charges of aggravated robbery and theft over $1,000.
