A Kingsport man, a Johnson City man, and a Gray resident each face charges after a shooting in Gray, according to a Washington County Sheriff's Office press release.
Authorities say Robert Spears, 18, of Kingsport, argued with Samual L. Riness, 19, of Johnson City, while both men were intoxicated. Spears is accused of attempting to shoot Riness multiple times, striking him once in the left side.
Spears, of 728 Lebanon Road, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a handgun while intoxicated and underage consumption. He remains in the Washington County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
Riness was taken to the Johnson City Medical Center emergency room for treatment of the gunshot wound. While there, authorities found Riness in possession of 15 grams of marijuana.
Riness, of 1121 Carroll Creek Road, has been admitted to the Johnson City Medical Center for treatment. Charges are pending upon his release.
Authorities returned to the Gray residence where the shooting occurred, and found more marijuana and drug paraphernalia, in addition to the weapon Spears allegedly used in the shooting.
Nathan D. Frasier, 20, of 145 Ed Martin Road, was charged with underage consumption, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of schedule VI drugs for resale. He remains jailed on $6,500 bond.
Spears and Frasier are both scheduled for arraignment Nov. 9 in General Sessions Court.
