KINGSPORT — A Kingsport man told police he was robbed at gunpoint in a school parking lot where he expected to meet a woman to make a purchase of stereo equipment.

Jeremy Isbel told police he arranged through a friend to meet a woman that he’d never seen before and only knew as “Heather” at the Tri-Cities Christian School parking lot at 257 Walker St.

He arrived in the parking lot around 2:30 p.m. Sunday and reportedly observed two females and one male sitting in a late 1990s or early 2000s black Mercedes-Benz.

“Isbel said the male subject got out of the Mercedes and got into his car,” KPD Cpl. Jason Bellamy stated in his report. “As he began to discuss the stereo equipment the male produced a snub nose revolver and demanded Isbel’s money. Isbel complied and then all three subjects fled the area in the Mercedes.”

The exact amount of cash stolen was not specified, although the stereo equipment purchase was reported to be “several hundred dollars’ worth.”

The male suspect was described as white, standing about 5 feet, 10 inches, of about average build and between 20-25 years of age.

Both female suspects are white. One was described as being 26-27 years of age with auburn or brown curly hair, and the other was described as having straight brown hair.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact the KPD Criminal Investigations Division at 229-9429.
