After 17 years in business, Ming Garden restaurant has relocated across a parking lot at the Crown Point shopping center.
Owned by Emily Wong, the Ming Garden reopened June 18 at 1207 N. Eastman Road just north of its first location at 1205 N. Eastman Road and next to Burger King. The back of the new restaurant building fronts North Eastman Road, and a sign on Eastman Road directs customers to the new business location.
The reopening came two weeks after the old location closed. It has since been razed to make way for redevelopment of the shopping center.
The restaurant's menu and prices remain the same at the new location, as does seating capacity for almost 200. However, the new building has new decor and furnishings and is reconfigured from the old layout.
"Everything is the same, just a new location," Wong said in the restaurant recently before the lunch rush began.
"We really appreciate our regular customers visiting us at our new location," Wong said. "We appreciate the business."
Ming Garden offers dine-in or take-out food. It has a daily luncheon and dinner buffet plus menu offerings. Reservations are not required but are accepted.
In addition to the Chinese buffet, those who get the luncheon or dinner buffet can see items of their choice prepared on the Mongolian grill.
The buffet is $6.50 plus drink and tax for lunch and $9.95 plus drink and tax for dinner.
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, visit www.ming-garden.com or call the restaurant at (423) 246-1141.
