Floyd Melvin Cullipher, 56, of St. Augustine, Fla., was living in a recreational vehicle parked next to a home on Gray Pine Lane in Gate City last year when relatives discovered he was videotaping one of the family members - a child - while she was in the shower.
The case was referred by the Scott County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office to U.S. Attorney John Brownlee for prosecution.
Cullipher entered a guilty plea in April at U.S. District Court in Big Stone Gap to charges related to the sexual exploitation of children.
Cullipher pleaded guilty to two charges of manufacturing child pornography and two charges of possession of child pornography.
Between October 2005 and December 2006, Cullipher used cameras hidden in heating grates in the bathrooms of a Scott County home to film two girls using the bathroom and showering.
Cullipher also had pornographic footage of another underage child.
That tape was made in Cullipher's St. Augustine home, according to evidence presented by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Zachary Lee.
Cullipher is set to be sentenced on the charges June 19.
He faces a mandatory minimum term of 15 years in prison and a maximum term of 80 years in prison. He could also be sentenced to a fine of up to $1 million.
