Woman arrested, accused of trying to cash phony check in Johnson City

Jamie Self, no age or address listed on police report, was arrested Tuesday afternoon after trying to cash a phony check at Cash Express in Johnson City.
The $2,959.47 check was from Popeye's Chicken and Biscuits, and Ms. Self told Chase Express employees it was back pay from her former employer.
Ms. Self was charged her with criminal simulation over $1,000 and attempted theft of over $1,000.
Ms. Self is being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of $10,000.
She is scheduled for arraignment Thursday at 10 a.m. in Washington County General Sessions Court.
