LOS ANGELES - James Blunt will not be charged over a claim that he drove over someone's foot while leaving a party in February, the city attorney's office said Friday.

"After review of the information provided, we've decided not to file charges at this time," city attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan said without further comment.

Police investigated a man's claim that he was injured at a Feb. 24 Bel-Air Estates bash. Some witnesses reported that Blunt was driving the car, police said.

Calls and an e-mail Friday to the 30-year-old singer's publicist, Sheila Richman, weren't immediately returned.

Blunt's publicist Sheila Richman released a statement in February saying Blunt and his car were "swarmed by paparazzi" and that he was "trying to navigate his car through all of the people" at "2 mph."

WINCHESTER, Va. - Virginia-native Wayne Newton will be the celebrity guest for the 80th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, joining a list that in the past has included Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Katie Couric, Dan Akroyd and George Hamilton.

The 65-year-old singer, best known for his performances in Las Vegas and his signature song "Danke Schoen," will be the grand marshal for the event, which will be held May 1-6. Newton plans to take part in the festival on May 5, including the parade.

The entertainer grew up in Roanoke and by the age of 6 had toured with the Grand Ole Opry Road Show and made his first record.

The festival, held just 75 miles west of Washington, D.C., celebrates the start of the apple growing season with events that include craft shows, parades, a circus and a 10K run. Organizers estimate 250,000 to 300,000 people attend the festival each year.

MUMBAI, India - A diamond heist, a Bollywood dance routine and Mike Tyson make an unlikely combination.

But the former heavyweight champion is set to groove to Indian pop music in a promotional video for "Fool and Final," an upcoming Bollywood comedy, the film's media consultant said Friday.

The 40-year-old boxer will shoot the promo in India, said N. Chattani, who is in charge of publicity for the movie's producer, Firoze Nadiadwala.

"It's finalized," Chattani said. "Tyson will be shooting the music promo with the entire cast."

Why Tyson?

Aside from instant publicity, action hero Sunny Deol stars as a boxer in the film, directed by Ahmed Khan.

"The movie is a laugh riot, and the filmmakers thought Tyson would be great in the promo," Chattani said.

In 1986, a 20-year-old Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champ. He was convicted of rape in Indiana in 1992 and pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault charges in Maryland in 1999.

By 1997, Tyson's career hit a low point when he bit Evander Holyfield's ear during a fight.

Tyson is facing an August trial in Arizona on felony drug possession charges and two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of drugs. He was arrested Dec. 29 in Scottsdale after driving away from a nightclub. The county prosecutor ‘s office said Tyson would have to ask the court for permission to leave the country.
